Orange-Date Cake

Ingredients

• 1 c butter or oleo
• 2 c sugar
• 4 eggs
• 1 tsp soda
• 12 c buttermilk
• 3 12 c all-purpose flour
• 1 lb dates chopped
• 1 lb candy orange slices chopped
• 2 c pecans or walnuts chopped
• 1 4 oz can coconut

Directions

1. Cream butter and sugar well
2. Add four eggs one at a time Mix soda with 12 cup buttermilk add to cake alternately with flour
3. Stir in dates orange slices and nuts use a small amount of the flour to dust
4. Add coconut
5. Bake in greased and floured tube pan
6. Bake at 300 for 2 hours
