Orange Butterhorn Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 tsp salt
- 12 c butter
- 1 c milk
- 3 eggs
- 12 c sugar
- 1 cake yeast
- 4 to 5 c flour
- 14 c grated orange rind
- 14 c sugar
Directions
- Heat milk butter and salt until butter melts
- Remove from heat
- Stir in eggs mixing well
- Add sugar and yeast
- Stir in flour
- Knead dough until shiny
- Place in a warm place to rise until doubled
- Divide into 2 equal parts
- Roll out like a pizza Spread half of the orange rind and sugar over pizza
- Cut into 24 slices
- Roll up each slice beginning at the wide end
- Place on a baking sheet
- Allow to rise until double
- Bake at 375 until lightly browned
- Very good hot with butter
- Freezes well
