Orange Cake

Ingredients

• 3 c flour sifted 2 times
• 12 tsp salt sifted with flour
• 4 eggs
• 2 c sugar
• 1 c shortening
• 1 14 c buttermilk with 1 rounded tsp soda
• 1 grated orange rind
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 grated orange rind for basting

Directions

1. Cream shortening and sugar
2. Add eggs one at a time
3. Add flour mixture alternately with buttermilk
4. Add one grated orange rind and vanilla
5. Bake at 325 to 350
6. Bake in tube pan
