Orange Crush Pound Cake
Ingredients
- 1 c shortening
- 14 c margarine softened
- 2 34 c sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 c flour
- 12 tsp salt
- 1 c Orange Crush soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp orange extract
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 14 c margarine softened
- 23 1 lb pkg confectioners sugar
Directions
- Cream shortening 14 cup margarine and sugar in mixer bowl until light and fluffy
- Beat in eggs one at a time
- Sift flour and salt together
- Add to batter alternately with orange soda mixing well after each addition
- Stir in extracts
- Spoon into greased and floured tube pan
- Bake at 325 to 350 for 1 hour and 10 minutes
- Cool in pan and remove to wire rack to cool completely
- Combine cream cheese 14 cup margarine and confectioners sugar in mixing bowl
- Mix until smooth
- Spread over cake
