Orange Sangria

Orange Sangria

Ingredients

  • 1 medium orange or lemon or lime
  • 14 c sugar
  • 2 c orange juice
  • 1 45 qt bottle dry red wine
  • 12 c Cointreau or Triple Sec

Directions

  1. Cut orange in half
  2. Slice one half
  3. With a vegetable peeler cut off the thin outer peel of the other half of the orange
  4. In a bowl using a wooden spoon mash peel into the sugar so sugar absorbs the oils then add remaining ingredients
  5. Cover and chill
  6. Remove peels after 15 minutes
  7. Serve over ice
  8. Makes 1 12 quarts
