Oranges In Liqueur
Ingredients
- 7 oranges
- 4 Tbsp butter
- 13 c sugar
- 13 c orange liqueur
- 1 c walnuts
- juice of 1 orange
Directions
- Boil the zest from one orange zest is the peel without the bitter white portion for 5 minutes
- Drain and dry
- Melt butter Add sugar and liqueur
- When sugar is dissolved add the orange zest and the juice
- Simmer until medium thickness
- Peel and slice remaining oranges 13-inch thick
- Place overlapped oranges on a serving platter
- Sprinkle walnuts over top
- Pour sauce over the orange slices and serve
