In a 1-quart saucepan combine the lemon juice oil garlic soy sauce salt pepper and aniseed
Bring to a boil over high heat and stir about 30 seconds or until the salt dissolves
Put the steak into a 9 x 9 x 2-inch non-aluminum baking dish and pierce all over with a fork
Pour the hot marinade over the steak turn the steak over in the marinade to coat it well and marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes or longer if you have time turning once
Preheat the broiler
Place the steak on the rack of the broiler pan about 2 or 3 inches from the heat
