Out-Of-This-World Rolls
Ingredients
- 2 pkg dry yeast
- 14 c warm water
- 12 c shortening
- 12 c sugar
- 3 eggs well beaten
- 1 c warm water
- 4 12 c flour
- 2 tsp salt
Directions
- Soften yeast in 14 cup warm water
- In large bowl combine shortening sugar beaten eggs 1 cup warm
- water and salt
- Stir in softened yeast and 2 12 cups flour
- Beat until smooth and blended
- Add remaining flour to make a soft dough and mix well Cover and allow to rise
- in a warm place until double in bulk This takes about 1 hour
- Punch down and place in refrigerator overnight
- Divide dough in half and roll each portion into a rectangle 12-inch thick
- Spread with softened butter
- Roll each rectangle jelly roll style and cut into 1-inch slices
- Place cut side down in greased muffin tins
- Cover and let rise 2 hours Bake at 400 for 15 minutes
- Makes 2 dozen large rolls
