Oven Baked Caramel Corn

Ingredients

  • 10 c popped corn unsalted
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 14 c white syrup
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 14 tsp cream of tartar
  • 14 tsp baking soda
  • pinch of salt

Directions

  1. Bring brown sugar syrup oleo and cream of tartar to a slow boil
  2. Stir to keep from burning
  3. Remove from heat and add soda and salt stir well
  4. Pour over popped corn and stir until well coated
  5. Keep warm while stirring
  6. Spread on cookie sheet or a deep roaster
  7. Bake at 200 for 1 hour
  8. Stir occasionally
  9. Cool May be put in plastic bags and frozen
  10. Eat directly from freezer
