Oven Baked Halibut A La Orange

Ingredients

  • 4 halibut steaks about 5 to 6 oz each
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil
  • grated peel of 12 orange
  • 18 to 14 tsp dill weed
  • 2 green onions cut into 2-inch strips
  • 2 Tbsp margarine
  • 12 c freshly squeezed orange juice from one of the 3 oranges
  • 13 c apple juice
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 12 tsp chicken bouillon optional
  • 3 oranges peeled cut in half cartwheel slices and well drained use 1 for juice

Directions

  1. Line a 12 x 8 x 2-inch shallow baking dish with foil
  2. Lightly brush both sides of halibut steaks with oil
  3. Arrange in dish Sprinkle with orange peel and dill Cover dish with foil and bake at 450 allowing 10 to 12 minutes cooking time per inch of thickness measured at its thickest part or until halibut flakes when tested with a fork
