• 2 lbs beef stew meat trimmed
• 4 medium potatoes cut into 1 inch chunks
• 6 medium carrots cut into 12 inch chunks
• 1 medium onion chopped
• 2 cups tomato juice
• 1 cup water
• 3 Tbsp quick-cooking tapioca
• 1 tsp sugar
• 2 tsp salt
• 12 tsp black pepper
