Oven Swiss Steak
Ingredients
- 1 12 lb beef round steak 34-inch thick
- 14 c plain flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 16 oz can stewed tomatoes
- 12 c chopped celery
- 12 c chopped carrot
- 2 Tbsp chopped onion
- 12 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 14 c shredded sharp American cheese
Directions
- Cut meat into 4 portions
- Mix flour and salt
- Pound into meat
- Set aside remaining flour
- Brown meat in small amount of hot shortening and place in shallow baking dish
- Blend remaining flour with drippings in skillet
- Add remaining ingredients except cheese
