Oyster Casserole
Ingredients
- 12 lb saltines
- 12 lb butter
- 1 lb oysters shelled
- salt and pepper to taste
- milk
Directions
- Crush saltines to coarse meal
- Spread a 12-inch layer of saltines in 1 12-quart casserole dish
- Layer oysters and dots of butter with layers of crackers
- Add salt and pepper to each layer to your taste
- Fill to within 1-inch of top of casserole dish Add milk to just cover cracker layer on top
- Finish with a couple dots of butter
- Bake in 325 oven for 30 minutes or until top is golden brown and crusty
