Pan Sauteed Spicy Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 1 12 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 5 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 Tbsp paprika preferably Spanish pimienton
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 3 to 4 scallions chopped
  • juice of 1 lemon or lime
  • olive oil for marinade and sauteing
  • Tabasco sauce if desired

Directions

  1. Toss shrimp in the next 5 ingredients and coat with a little olive oil until moist
  2. Let marinate for a couple of hours or overnight
  3. When you are ready to cook the shrimp add the salt lemon juice and chopped scallions
  4. In a very hot skillet coated with oil quickly saute the shrimp until firm
  5. Serve hot on a bed of greens as an appetizer or deglaze the pan with some dry white wine and some butter to make a sauce and serve on pasta or rice
