Park Avenue Cake

Ingredients
- 2 12 c sifted flour
- 2 12 tsp baking powder
- 12 tsp salt
- 4 egg whites
- 12 c sugar
- 12 c lard
- 1 c sugar
- 1 c milk
- 1 12 tsp vanilla
- 1 c chopped black walnuts
Directions
- Line a 9 x 13-inch pan with double thickness of wax paper Sift dry ingredients together
- Beat egg whites until frothy and add 12 cup sugar making high peaked meringue
- Cream lard and add sugar
- Beat until fluffy and add milk and dry ingredients alternately
- Combine with meringue and put in pan
- Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes
