Party Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 12 c dry bread crumbs
  • 14 c chopped onion
  • 14 c milk
  • 12 tsp salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 12 oz bottle chili sauce
  • 1 10 oz jar grape jelly
  • chopped green onion optional

Directions

  1. Combine the first 6 ingredients mixing well
  2. Shape into 1-inch balls
  3. Cook meatballs in hot oil in a large skillet until lightly browned drain meatballs on a paper towel and discard drippings
  4. Combine chili sauce and jelly in skillet cook over medium heat until jelly is melted
  5. Add meatballs simmer 15 to 20 minutes stirring occasionally
  6. Transfer to chafing dish keep warm
  7. Sprinkle with chopped green onion if desired
  8. Yields about 5 dozen
