Ingredients

  • 1 12 c all-purpose flour
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 3 Tbsp shortening cold
  • 3 Tbsp unsalted butter cold
  • 4 to 5 Tbsp ice water

Directions

  1. Mix flour and salt in a large bowl Cut in shortening and butter until mixture is very coarse
  2. Sprinkle water one tablespoon at a time over flour tossing with fork until mixture cleans sides of bowl
  3. Make a ball
  4. Wrap airtight and refrigerate at least 30 minutes Roll out on floured board
  5. Place in 9-inch pan Refrigerate until ready to use
