Peach Bread
Ingredients
- 1 12 lb ripe peaches
- 2 c flour
- 12 c white sugar
- 12 c light brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 18 tsp salt
- 1 large egg beaten
- 2 Tbsp margarine melted
- 14 c golden raisins softened in water and drained well
- 14 c walnuts
Directions
- Peel skin off peaches and cut into small chunks
- In a medium size bowl and using a potato masher mash the peaches pour into a strainer and drain
- In large bowl mix together flour sugar baking soda and salt
- Set aside
- In medium size bowl blend together peaches beaten egg and melted margarine
- Stir in the nuts and raisins
- Add to the flour mixture and blend well
- Pour into a 5 x 9-inch greased and floured loaf pan and let stand for 20 minutes
- Bake in 350 oven for 55 minutes
- Cool bread in pan for 15 minutes
