Pear Preserves

Ingredients

  • pears
  • sugar
  • water
  • 1 lemon

Directions

  1. Peel core and wash pears
  2. Cut into quarters weigh or measure fruit
  3. Use one container of sugar for every 3 containers of pears Add about 14 cup of water to the sugar to get it melted and boiling
  4. Add pears to boiling mixture of sugar cook slowly
  5. Cut lemon into very thin slices 12 lemon sliced is enough to flavor approximately 3 quarts of fruit and continue cooking until pears are tender and the juice begins to thicken a little
  6. Seal in jars
