Pearl HuffmanS Wilted Lettuce Salad

Ingredients

• 1 mess fresh garden lettuce
• 1 bunch spring onions sliced
• 14 c homemade bacon bits
• 1 Tbsp bacon drippings
• 1 Tbsp flour
• 3 Tbsp sugar
• 1 tsp salt
• 34 c water
• 14 c vinegar
• 1 egg

Directions

1. Mix the drippings flour sugar salt water vinegar and egg thoroughly and boil 2 to 3 minutes
2. Pour over bowlful of mixed lettuce and onions
3. Stir in bacon bits and serve immediately
