Pears In White Wine

Ingredients
- 8 firm ripe pears
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 3 c dry white wine
- 1 12 c sugar
Directions
- Wash pears
- Pare and core from blossom end but leave steam intact
- Brush with lemon juice
- Combine wine and sugar in large saucepan
- Bring to boiling stirring
- Bring until sugar dissolves
- Lower heat add pears
- Cover
- Simmer 10 minutes or until tender but still firm
- Let pears cool in syrup Refrigerate several hours or overnight
- Drain pears
