Pecan Sandies

Ingredients

  • 12 c pecans finely chopped
  • 2 14 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 12 tsp baking powder
  • 12 c margarine
  • 13 c shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 13 c dairy sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Grind the pecans
  2. Combine nuts flour and baking powder
  3. In mixing bowl beat butter and shortening for 30 seconds
  4. Add sugar beat until fluffy
  5. Add egg sour cream and vanilla beat well Add dry ingredients beat until well combined
  6. Divide dough in half cover and chill at least 3 hours
  7. Working half the dough at a time on a lightly floured surface roll dough to 18-inch thickness
  8. Cut with cutter or shape into 1-inch balls
  9. Place on ungreased cookie sheets
  10. Bake in a 375 oven for 9 to 10 minutes for cutouts or 10 minutes for shaped
