Pecan Tarts

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg 3 oz cream cheese softened
  • 12 c butter or margarine softened
  • 1 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 34 c brown sugar packed
  • 1 Tbsp margarine melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 1 c coarsely chopped pecans

Directions

  1. Blend cream cheese and 12 cup butter
  2. Stir in flour and chill 1 hour
  3. Heat oven to 325
  4. Roll dough into 24 1-inch balls and press into 1 12-inch muffin tins
  5. Beat egg brown sugar 1 tablespoon butter vanilla and salt together
  6. Sprinkle 12 cup pecans on dough in tins
  7. Add egg mixture and sprinkle with remaining nuts
  8. Bake at 325 about 25 minutes or until set
  9. Cool in pans
  10. Makes 24 tarts
