Pennsylvania Dutch Chicken And Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken
  • 6 to 8 large potatoes chunked
  • 4 to 5 stalks celery chopped
  • 2 large onions diced
  • 12 tsp salt and pepper
  • 4 to 6 c flour

Directions

  1. In large pot boil chicken and keep stock
  2. Bone and skin chicken
  3. Place back in pot
  4. Add vegetables
  5. Salt and pepper Boil until cooked
  6. Reduce heat to simmer
  7. Keep water level high Add water to flour to make slightly sticky dough
  8. Roll out 14-inch thick and cut 1 12-inch squares
  9. Drop squares into water and let cook until dough is done
  10. Drain water only as needed to keep from overflowing
