Pennsylvania Dutch Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon
  • 2 medium onions chopped
  • 4 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 12 tsp dry mustard
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp cider vinegar
  • 1 lb fresh green beans cut and cooked
  • 1 c water

Directions

  1. Fry bacon until crisp drain
  2. Saute onion in bacon fat until golden
  3. In small bowl mix cornstarch salt mustard sugar and vinegar
  4. Add liquid from beans and beat until smooth
  5. Add the mixture to bacon fat in pan and boil until thickened slightly Add beans and stir well
  6. Crush bacon on top
  7. Heat until hot and bubbly
