Pepperminties
Ingredients
- 1 34 c plain flour
- 1 c sugar
- 12 c margarine or butter
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 14 tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 14 tsp vanilla
- 1 c confectioners sugar
- 14 lb peppermint candy
Directions
- Two hours before serving or early in the day
- Into large bowl measure flour sugar margarine baking powder salt egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla
- With mixer at low speed beat ingredients until well blended
- Shape into ball
- Preheat oven to 325
- On lightly floured surface roll half of dough in 12 x 6-inch rectangle
- Cut lengthwise into 4 strips then cut each strip crosswise into 6 pieces
- Place rectangles about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet
- Bake 12 to 14 minutes until lightly browned
- Remove to wire racks to cool
- Repeat with remaining dough
