Perfect Meringue

Ingredients

  • 3 egg whites at room temperature
  • 6 Tbsp sugar
  • 14 tsp cream of tartar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400
  2. Place egg whites in mixing bowl dont use plastic
  3. Add cream of tartar
  4. Beat at low speed until foamy
  5. Add sugar a little at a time beating at medium high speed until soft peaks form
  6. Spoon mounds of meringue around outer edge of pie filling
  7. Spread carefully around edge being certain that meringue touches inner edge of crust
  8. Spoon remaining meringue over center of filling spread to border
  9. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until peaks are golden brown
  10. Cool pie on wire rack
