Perfect White Bread
Ingredients
- 1 pkg dry yeast
- 14 c water warm
- 2 c hot water
- 2 Tbsp sugar heaping
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp shortening heaping
- 5 to 6 14 c flour
Directions
- Soften yeast in 14 cup warm water set aside until remaining hot water shortening salt and sugar cool to lukewarm
- Stir in 2 cups flour beat well
- Add remaining flour to make a moderately stiff dough
- Turn on floured surface and knead until satiny 8 to 10 minutes
- Let sit 10 minutes and knead again a few minutes Place in greased bowl turning once to grease surface
- Let raise in warm place until double in bulk
- Punch down raise again 1 hour until double
- Cut dough in two portions
- Place in small ball set 10 minutes
- Place in loaves let raise until double about 1 hour Bake at 300 for 45 minutes
