Perpetual Pot Of Fruit With Rum Or Brandy

Ingredients

  • 4 c water
  • 4 c sugar
  • 1 c fresh lemon juice
  • 1 c rum or brandy
  • assorted fruits

Directions

  1. Bring water and sugar to a boil stirring until sugar dissolves
  2. Simmer 15 minutes
  3. Cool
  4. Add lemon juice and rum or brandy or some of both
  5. Pour into a large container with cover Add fruit to the syrup making sure that the fruit is submerged Refrigerate replenishing as needed
  6. Keeps beautifully
