Persimmon Date Nut Bread

Ingredients

  • 6 Tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 c sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 c persimmon pulp
  • 2 c sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 12 tsp cinnamon
  • 12 tsp nutmeg
  • 14 tsp cloves
  • 2 tsp grated orange peel
  • 1 c chopped dates
  • 1 c chopped nuts

Directions

  1. Cream butter
  2. Add sugar and beat well
  3. Add eggs one at a time beating after each addition
  4. Dissolve soda in persimmon pulp
  5. Mix into creamed ingredients
  6. Combine flour baking powder salt cinnamon nutmeg and cloves
  7. Stir into creamed mixture
