Ingredients

  • flour
  • 1 bird cut into pieces as for frying chicken
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 stick butter
  • onions thinly sliced

Directions

  1. Flour bird lightly
  2. Salt and pepper
  3. Slice 12 stick butter Cover with thin layer of onions
  4. Arrange pheasant on onions then cover pheasant with a thin layer of onions and remaining butter
  5. Add 12 cup water
  6. Bake at 250 for 4 hours
  7. Recipe may be used for quail or other small birds
  8. Makes 6 to 8 servings
