Plain Biscuits

Ingredients
- 3 c sifted all-purpose flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1 Tbsp sugar optional
- 34 Tbsp salt
- 12 c butter
- 14 c approximately milk
- 1 egg well beaten
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400
- Sift dry ingredients together then using a pastry blender or two knives cut in butter
- Combine milk and egg and slowly add to flour until mixture is wet enough to hold together
- Turn onto a floured board
- Knead then roll to 12-inch thickness and cut with a biscuit cutter
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly golden
- Yields about 2 dozen biscuits
