Ingredients

  • 4 c sauerkraut rinsed
  • 1 medium apple chopped
  • 14 c brown sugar
  • 14 c water
  • 12 tsp caraway seeds if desired
  • 1 to 1 12 lb Polish sausage or ring bologna

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients except sausage in large skillet Place sausage on top
  2. Cover and simmer 30 minutes until heated through
  3. Weiners or smokie links can be used for the Polish sausage
