Poor ManS Cake

Ingredients

• 1 box raisins
• 1 c shortening
• 2 c water
• 3 c self-rising flour
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1 tsp cloves
• 1 tsp soda
• 1 c pecans

Directions

1. In a saucepan cook raisins water and shortening for 5 minutes over medium heat
2. In a large bowl combine remaining ingredients and mix with the raisins
3. Pour in a 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350 for about 35 minutes This makes a good moist cake that keeps well
