Ingredients

  • 3 lb chuck pot roast beef
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 1 14 c water
  • 34 c beef broth
  • 12 c onion
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 12 tsp pepper
  • 12 tsp ground ginger

Directions

  1. In a Dutch oven brown roast in hot oil
  2. Combine water broth tomato sauce onion sugar vinegar salt cinnamon bay leaf pepper and ginger
  3. Pour over meat and bring to a boil Reduce heat cover and simmer until meat is tender about 2 12 to 3 hours
  4. You can make good gravy with the drippings
