Potato And Cabbage Casserole

Ingredients

  • 14 c butter
  • 1 small head cabbage coarsely chopped
  • 2 large onions sliced
  • 4 potatoes cooked and sliced
  • 14 c flour
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 c American or Cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 13 oz can chicken broth

Directions

  1. In large pan heat butter and saute cabbage and onions until wilted
  2. Place half of the cabbage onions and potatoes in a 3-quart casserole
  3. Sprinkle with 1 cup cheese
  4. Put remaining cabbage potato and onion on top
  5. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in same pan cabbage was cooked in
  6. Add 14 cup flour
  7. Cook 1 minute
  8. Add can of broth
  9. Cook until thickened
  10. Pour over top of cabbage
  11. Sprinkle remaining cheese over top
  12. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes
