Mash potatoes while hot then cool Add potato water scalded and cooled milk salt sugar and melted shortening to potatoes Add softened yeast then stir in flour
Mix thoroughly using only enough flour to make a stiff kneadable dough
Knead until smooth and elastic
Place in lightly greased bowl Cover and let rise until doubled in bulk Punch down and let rise again for about 1 hour
Shape into 2 loaves
Let rise in greased bread pans
Bake in hot oven at 400 for about 50 to 60 minutes or until done
