Potatoes Romanoff

Ingredients

  • 6 medium potatoes peeled
  • 6 green onions finely sliced
  • 1 14 c grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 14 c sour cream
  • 1 c milk
  • pepper to taste
  • 12 tsp nutmeg

Directions

  1. Cut potatoes in half and cook in boiling water until firm but tender or microwave 8 minutes on High
  2. Allow to cool
  3. Coarsely grate potatoes and place into a greased casserole dish
  4. Add onions and half the cheese
  5. In a bowl combine cream milk and pepper
  6. Pour over potatoes and cheese then top with remaining cheese and the nutmeg
  7. Chill for 2 hours or overnight
  8. Bake uncovered in the oven at 350 for 40 minutes
  9. Serves 6
