Praline Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 12 c chopped pecans divided
  • 1 12 c butter or margarine softened
  • 8 oz pkg cream cheese softened
  • 3 c packed brown sugar
  • 6 eggs room temperature
  • 3 14 c all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325
  2. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan Sprinkle 12 cup chopped pecans in pan
  3. Set aside
  4. Cream the butter or margarine and cream cheese
  5. Add brown sugar and cream until light and fluffy about 5 minutes
  6. Add eggs one at a time mixing well after each addition
  7. Fold in flour just until combined
  8. Do not overmix
  9. Stir in vanilla and remaining 1 cup chopped pecans
  10. Spoon batter into prepared pan and place on baking sheet in oven
  11. Bake for 1 12 hours or until wooden toothpick inserted near center comes out clean
  12. Cool in pan 10 minutes Remove to rack to cool completely
  13. Yields 16 servings
