Prune Lunch Box Cake

Ingredients

• 1 c prunes pitted and cut up
• 1 12 c sugar
• 1 14 tsp soda
• 12 c cooking oil
• 1 c chopped nuts walnuts
• 1 c hot water
• 2 c sifted flour
• 1 tsp salt
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp each nutmeg cinnamon and cloves

Directions

1. Simmer prunes 5 minutes
2. Sift dry ingredients together
3. Add prune mixture and remaining ingredients
4. Blend thoroughly one minute
5. Pour into greased and floured pan 8 12 x 13 12 x 2-inch
6. Bake about 35 minutes at 350
7. Cool and cut in bars
8. I use powdered sugar icing but it doesnt need icing
