Pumpkin Applesauce Bread

Ingredients

• 23 c shortening
• 2 12 c sugar
• 4 eggs
• 1 c applesauce
• 1 c pumpkin
• 3 13 c flour sifted
• 2 tsp baking soda
• 12 tsp baking powder
• 1 12 tsp salt
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 12 tsp mace
• 23 c apple juice
• 1 c chopped walnuts

Directions

1. Cream together shortening and sugar
2. Add eggs one at a time Beat well after each
3. Stir in applesauce and pumpkin
4. Sift together dry ingredients and add alternately with apple juice Stir in chopped nuts
5. Turn into 2 greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pans
6. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until done
7. May be wrapped in foil and frozen
