QueenS Pralines

Ingredients
- 1 heaping kitchen spoon sugar
- 2 c sugar
- 34 c milk
- pinch of soda
- 13 stick margarine
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 c pecans
Directions
- In heavy skillet over medium heat cook kitchen spoon of sugar until carmelized and medium brown color
- In large saucepan cook 2 cups sugar and milk until it boils remove from heat and add soda
- Stir thoroughly mixture will be frothy
- Return to heat and again bring to rolling boil
- Remove from heat and stir in carmelized sugar stir well
- Return to heat and cook to soft ball stage stirring frequently
- Then add margarine vanilla and pecans
- Stir until mixture starts to harden and loses its gloss Drop by spoonful onto waxed paper
- I place pan in cold water to speed hardening
- Makes 18 to 24 pralines depending on size desired
