Quick Yeast Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 pkg active dry yeast
  • 12 c warm milk
  • 1 c milk
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg lightly beaten
  • 4 c all-purpose flour

Directions

  1. Combine yeast and 12 cup warm milk in 2-cup liquid measuring cup let stand 5 minutes
  2. Combine yeast mixture and remaining milk and next 4 ingredients in large mixing bowl
  3. Gradually add 1 cup flour stirring until smooth
  4. Gradually stir in enough remaining flour to make soft dough
  5. Place in well-greased bowl turning to grease top
  6. Cover and let stand in warm place free from drafts for 15 minutes
  7. Punch dough down cover and let stand in warm place free from drafts for 15 minutes
  8. Turn dough out onto floured surface knead 3 or 4 times
  9. Divide dough into 24 pieces shape into balls
  10. Place in 2 greased 9-inch square pans Cover and let stand in warm place free from drafts for 15 minutes Bake at 400 for 15 minutes or until golden brown
  11. Makes 2 dozen
