Raised Bow Ties

Ingredients

  • 8 eggs
  • 1 c butter melted
  • 1 12 c sugar
  • 1 large yeast cake melted with 14 c warm water
  • 1 lemon juice and rind
  • 1 pinch of salt for each egg
  • about 6 to 7 c flour
  • powdered sugar
  • lemon flavoring

Directions

  1. Beat eggs until creamy
  2. Add butter sugar yeast mixture and flour
  3. Cover and let raise for about 1 12 hours until doubled Place dough on floured board and make the knots
  4. If sticking add a little more flour
  5. Put on greased cookie sheet and let them raise again
  6. Bake at 375 for 10 minutes
  7. Frost with powdered sugar and lemon flavoring while warm
