Raisin Crisscross Cookies

Ingredients
- 12 c shortening
- 34 c sugar
- 1 egg
- 12 tsp lemon extract
- 1 tsp milk
- 1 34 c sifted self-rising flour
- 12 c coarsely ground or chopped raisins or nuts
Directions
- Mix together first 3 ingredients
- Stir in next 2 ingredients Stir in last 2 ingredients
- Roll into balls the size of a small walnut
- Place balls about 3 inches apart on greased baking sheet
- Flatten with a fork dipped in flour making a crisscross pattern
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes in a moderate oven 350 to 375 no more
- Makes about 50 cookies
