Red Cabbage With Apples

Ingredients
- 1 medium red cabbage shredded
- 1 to 2 apples cored and sliced
- 2 Tbsp bacon fat
- 1 medium onion
- 1 c water
- 1 tsp salt
- 14 tsp pepper
- 2 cloves
- 1 bay leaf
- 3 Tbsp vinegar and sugar or to taste
Directions
- Combine all ingredients in a large skillet
- Cook over medium heat covered stirring occasionally for 20 to 25 minutes or until cabbage is tender
