Red Velvet Cocoa Cake
Ingredients
- 12 c butter or margarine
- 1 12 c sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbsp red food color
- 2 c unsifted flour
- 14 c Hersheys cocoa
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 c buttermilk or sour milk
- 1 12 tsp baking soda
- 1 Tbsp vinegar
- Fluffy Vanilla frosting
Directions
- Cream butter sugar and vanilla in a large mixer bowl
- Add eggs and food color blend
- Combine flour cocoa and salt add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture
- Stir baking soda into vinegar fold carefully into batter do not beat
- Pour into 2 greased and floured 9-inch pans
- Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean Cool 10 minutes
- Remove from pans
