Rhubarb Nut Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 12 c light brown sugar
  • 12 c shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c sour milk
  • 2 12 c flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 12 c raw diced rhubarb
  • 12 c chopped pecans
  • 13 c sugar
  • 1 Tbsp melted butter

Directions

  1. Combine brown sugar shortening and egg
  2. In another bowl combine milk with vanilla
  3. Add milk mixture and sugar mixture alternately to flour beating well after each addition
  4. Fold in rhubarb and nuts
  5. Turn batter into 2 greased and floured loaf pans
  6. Sprinkle with sugar combined with melted butter
  7. Bake at 325 to 350 for 45 minutes or until done
