Rhubarb Nut Bread
Ingredients
- 1 12 c light brown sugar
- 12 c shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 c sour milk
- 2 12 c flour
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 12 c raw diced rhubarb
- 12 c chopped pecans
- 13 c sugar
- 1 Tbsp melted butter
Directions
- Combine brown sugar shortening and egg
- In another bowl combine milk with vanilla
- Add milk mixture and sugar mixture alternately to flour beating well after each addition
- Fold in rhubarb and nuts
- Turn batter into 2 greased and floured loaf pans
- Sprinkle with sugar combined with melted butter
- Bake at 325 to 350 for 45 minutes or until done
