Rice Pilaf

Rice Pilaf

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp butter or margarine
  • 12 c thin egg noodles
  • 1 c raw white rice or brown rice
  • 2 c boiling water or low fat chicken broth
  • white pepper and salt to taste
  • vegetable cooking spray

Directions

  1. Serves 4 people
  2. Coat a medium saucepan with cooking spray Melt butter over medium heat
  3. Add noodles constantly stirring over low heat until noodles become golden brown
  4. Add rice
  5. Coat with butter
  6. Meanwhile bring water or broth to a full boil
  7. Add at once to rice
  8. Salt and pepper to taste
  9. Put on a tight fitting lid and simmer until water is absorbed
  10. If brown rice is used add more water and cook longer
