Rice Pilaf
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp butter or margarine
- 12 c thin egg noodles
- 1 c raw white rice or brown rice
- 2 c boiling water or low fat chicken broth
- white pepper and salt to taste
- vegetable cooking spray
Directions
- Serves 4 people
- Coat a medium saucepan with cooking spray Melt butter over medium heat
- Add noodles constantly stirring over low heat until noodles become golden brown
- Add rice
- Coat with butter
- Meanwhile bring water or broth to a full boil
- Add at once to rice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Put on a tight fitting lid and simmer until water is absorbed
- If brown rice is used add more water and cook longer
