Roast Turkey And Cornbread Stuffing

Ingredients

  • 12 to 14 lb turkey
  • 12 c oil
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 12 oz pkg seasoned cornbread stuffing
  • 1 12 c celery chopped
  • 1 c onion minced
  • 2 Tbsp parsley minced
  • 1 c broth from cooking giblets

Directions

  1. Rinse turkey and wipe dry rub with oil then salt and pepper In a large bowl combine stuffing mix with oil and vegetables stir in broth
  2. Mix lightly
  3. Stuff loosely into neck and body cavities
  4. Skewer neck skin to back tuck legs under skin band Twist wings under turkey
  5. Place turkey breast-side up on a rack in a shallow roasting pan
  6. Place a tent of foil over turkey Roast at 325 for 3 12 to 4 hours 180 to 185 on meat thermometer
  7. Remove foil last 12 hour
  8. Cornbread stuffing can be cooked separately the last 45 minutes
